Your stay
At Villa Splendid we offer you two very luxurious and private accommodations, Lillian's Cottage and Bobby's Cabana. Each comes with its own full modern kitchen, private bathroom, seating area and luxury bed for two. Traveling with a larger group? We do have additional rooms upon request.
All of our accommodations offer a unique beauty and enjoyment that only comes from the land and sea that surrounds the villa. Every room boasts exquisite views of the Adriatic Sea & Elaphite Islands or of the beautifully maintained gardens. The traditional Dalmatian exterior and modern glamorous interior of the villa give guests the best of both worlds. Please click here for a youtube tour of the entire property.
History
Built in 1934 for the treasurer to the king of Yugoslavia, the property included a main house and three smaller buildings, with 8,000 square feet or so of combined living space and 150 feet of frontage on the water. The limestone used to build the villa was excavated from the same area as the White House stone. Bob Benmosche purchased the home in March of 2001 and 10 years of renovations by Croatian craftsman and stone workers resurrected this gorgeous villa, a jewel of Dubrovnik.
Wine & Olive Oil
In 2006, Villa Splendid owner Bob Benmosche, bought land in Dingac and Viganj and began cultivating grapes and olives making some of the Adriatics best wine and award winning olive oil. Guests may visit the vineyards by taking an awe-inspiring two and a half hour ride along the Dalmation coast.
